Joy Fellowship 14-day Fast
We will be corporately fasting and praying beginning on Monday, February 9.
We ask that you come pray together in faith in these scheduled times for prayer and in all small groups. The focus for the Monday and Thursday Night Bible Studies will be teaching on prayer followed by a time of prayer. Also the Men's, Women's and Youth Groups will also include teaching on prayer with praying.
"The Daniel Fast and Your Kids" taken from Parent Page, Living Hope A/G Church
"How can I do the Daniel Fast with my kids? They will never eat all that rabbit food! Here are some helpful hints to make it not only through but meaningful.
Do not force them to fast during the day. They are in school and we all know fasting can make one cranky. Allow them to eat school lunch. It will be easier on you and them.
Do include them in the fast at dinner time. They may not like everything you will make but encourage them to at least try some. Keep plenty of fruit, nuts and popcorn on hand, in case they're hungry still when dinner is through.
Do make dinner an event. Take time as you eat to read a special passage of Scripture or to pray for a particular need. Friday night is a good night to extend your Daniel dinner into a family night. Have the children act out one of the scenes from Daniel's life. Pray for each other and bless your children. You might want to even take the meal away from the table. Eat your Daniel mean on a blanket in the living room. Ask God for creative ideas to involve your children in what you are doing. Remember, we are praying for an explosion of soul, finances, and discipline. One of the ways to explode in discipline is to make the time to do devotions with your children.
Do plan ahead so that you are not so frustrated in making the meal that you have no time to spend praying with your children."
