Joy Fellowship Assembly Statement Concerning the Coronavirus
As we all know by now, the coronavirus poses a potential health threat. At present the level of threat is unknown, so we are being urged to take reasonable precautions until such a time as more scientific information is available.
At this time, Joy Fellowship will continue having services and providing ministries without interruption. Members and parishioners should make their own decisions regarding how they should respond to the daily reports in the media.
We don’t wish to be guilty of extremes. Therefore, we encourage congregants to maintain a reasonable, measured balance in their responses. Let’s be steadfast in prayer holding onto every promise God gives us in His Word.
The following reasonable precautions suggested by the CDC* are advised. These steps include:
- Clean your hands thoroughly and often.
- Avoid touching your face, nose, or eyes unless you wash your hands.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Wear a facemask if you are sick.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces that are touched frequently.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
If you have travelled to China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, or Singapore in the last two weeks, please refer to the CDC and follow their suggested guidelines.
Scriptures to meditate on:
Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
2Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of sound mind.”
Isaiah 35:4: “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, The recompense of God will come, and He will save you.”
Exodus 15:26:” And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer.”
Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.”
Isaiah 43:1-3: But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.”
Blessings, Pastor Mark
