In Season
As I sit here preparing for my message this Sunday, I am compelled to write down this thought - The Lord wants to grant to anyone who is willing to call on the Name of his Son Jesus Christ 'faith that demands an answer'! If there is one thing we need now more than ever it's sustaining Faith!
In the Bible there was a man named Jacob. He was a man who lived his life acquiring things through deception and manipulation. One day he encountered God in a dream and when the dream had ended, he woke up saying, "surely God was in this place and I did not know it." This dream/encounter with God was so tangible and real to Jacob, that he vowed to honor God with the rest of his life. What a journey it was! ** Jacob experienced restoration and forgiveness with his brother who hated him and wanted to kill him. ** Jacob experienced God's provision, protection and power!! At one point in Jacob's journey he had a wrestling match with God. The Bible says he wrestled all night long. Nothing was going to stop Jacob from getting his blessing, not even a dislocated hip. The end result of Jacob's wrestling match was a new name/identity. He was no longer Jacob the deceiver who was in the presence of God and did not know it! He was Israel, the one who went toe to toe and face to face with God and lived. My prayer for all of us in this time is that the One True God who rules over the Heavens and the earth, would grant unto all who will call on the Name of His only begotten Son Jesus, "sustaining and enduring faith to defeat this enemy called "COVID-19" and all its destruction." Hope to see you tonight at 6:30 for a time of worship/prayer and the Word as we live-stream again. We also will be live-streaming every Sunday at 10:30 am until we can meet together again. Blessings, Mark 0 Comments |
